The philosophy of the economics department is centered on providing comprehensive and high-quality training to eligible students, offering them a strong theoretical foundation, research skills, and practical knowledge.

The aim is to enhance their confidence, analytical prowess, and problem-solving abilities, equipping them to address the key challenges of development within the Nigerian economy.

Thus, the B.Sc. Economics is designed to empower students with the requisite competencies to pursue advanced studies in economics with confidence. Moreover, it seeks to instill in them an appreciation for the importance of wealth creation in Nigeria, understanding global finance dynamics, and effective resource management practices.

Through a combination of rigorous coursework, research opportunities, and practical experiences, the B.Sc. Economics program endeavors to nurture a cadre of economists who are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the economic development of Nigeria and beyond.
