AUN Introduces New Graduate Engineering Programs Following NUC Approval

Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria – August 21, 2025: The American University of Nigeria (AUN) is proud to announce the launch of its new graduate programs in Engineering, set to commence in the Fall 2025 semester. This milestone follows formal approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC), conveyed in a letter dated July 17, 2025, and signed by Dr. Abubakar M. Girei on behalf of the Executive Secretary.

The newly approved programs span Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees, offering advanced study in five key disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and Telecommunications Engineering.

Prospective students and previously registered applicants are invited to visit the AUN website to complete their enrollment and join the inaugural graduate cohorts beginning this September.

President of AUN, Dr. DeWayne Frazier, expressed deep appreciation to the NUC, describing the approval as a testament to AUN’s commitment to driving Nigeria’s technological future. “Engineering is the foundation of societal progress. These programs reflect our dedication to academic rigor and innovation. Under the visionary leadership of Dean Abubakar Sadiq Hussaini, we are confident that AUN will produce engineers equipped to solve real-world challenges.”

Established in 2019, the AUN School of Engineering boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a growing reputation for excellence in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy, Robotics, and Solar Technology. With existing undergraduate programs in Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical/Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering, the school continues to set the pace in engineering education across the region.
