SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Director, Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for developing and executing innovative recruitment strategies to attract, admit, and enroll a diverse and high-quality student body from across Nigeria and beyond. The Director will play a pivotal role in advancing AUN’s enrollment growth, strengthening its national presence, and enhancing its reputation as a leading institution preparing students to compete both locally and globally in accordance with its development philosophy.

DETAILED LISTING OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the AVPEM, develop and implement a comprehensive, data-driven admissions and recruitment strategy aligned with institutional goals
  • Lead nationwide student recruitment efforts, with strong engagement across key Nigerian secondary school markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with secondary schools, counselors, recruitment agents, and community leaders
  • Oversee admissions operations, including application review processes, yield strategies, and enrollment forecasting
  • Analyze admissions data and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and improve outcomes
  • In collaboration with the AVPEM, manage the merit scholarship program to ensure appropriate awarding strategies to maximize enrollment
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Academic Units, and Student Affairs to ensure a seamless student recruitment and onboarding experience
  • Represent AUN at national and international recruitment events, fairs, and outreach initiatives
  • Supervise, motivate and mentor on-campus and remote admissions staff, ensuring high performance and accountability
  • Utilize digital tools and CRM systems to track engagement, conversion, and enrollment metrics
  • Develop targeted initiatives to increase diversity, access, and student success.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or delegated by the supervisor.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities or any related discipline from a reputable higher institution. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Significant prior experience in higher education, particularly in admissions, recruitment, or enrollment management
  • Experience using data tools to arrive at strategic decisions regarding enrollment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student recruitment markets across Nigeria
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic enrollment plans
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to student success
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Other requirements/abilities for the position:

  • Experience working within an American-style or international education system
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding enrollment targets
  • Experience with digital recruitment strategies and social media engagement
