The Department of Politics and International Studies is dedicated to advancing knowledge, fostering ethical leadership, and promoting sustainable development in an increasingly complex global environment.
Its mission is to equip students with rigorous theoretical grounding, analytical skills, and practical competencies in politics, governance, international affairs, development, and peacebuilding.
Through interdisciplinary learning, research, and practice, the department prepares students to understand and address pressing global and local challenges, including governance, conflict, humanitarian crises, and socio-economic development.
Guided by a philosophy that integrates critical inquiry with real-world application, the department emphasizes the development of intellectual independence, research excellence, and innovative problem-solving.
It seeks to cultivate a deep understanding of political systems, institutions, and processes, while promoting the values of social justice, ethical leadership, and active civic engagement.
By fostering collaboration across academic, professional, and community spheres, the department contributes to building more peaceful, just, and well-governed societies.
Graduate Impact
The overarching goal of the Department of Politics and International Studies is to produce highly skilled and socially responsible graduates who are prepared to make meaningful impacts in their communities, the region, and the wider global arena.
