The Communications & Multimedia Design Department (CMD) at the American University of Nigeria plays a leading role in training future professionals in a fast-developing digital world. Indeed, the curriculum is carefully designed to enhance the relevance and critical role the students will be required to play as media professionals and future captains of industry.
The emphasis is therefore to produce graduates who will quickly become self-reliant job creators. This entails inculcating independent and critical-thinking skills as well as entrepreneurial mindset in line with the vision of AUN.
Our Programs
- B.Sc. in Communications & Multimedia Design (with concentrations in Journalism, Radio/TV/Film, Public Relations & Advertising, and Multimedia Design).
- Undergraduates pursuing majors in other disciplines can enrich their academic experience by completing a minor offered by the Department. Available minors include Journalism, Radio/TV/Film, Public Relations and Advertising, and Multimedia Design. Find out more here .

Our Facilities
The School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Nigeria offers state-of-the-art communication facilities designed to provide students with hands-on, industry-relevant experience in media and digital production.
Its media and video laboratories support training in broadcasting, filmmaking, and multimedia storytelling, complemented by audio recording spaces for radio production, podcasting, and sound design.
The School also features dedicated Mac-based design labs equipped with industry-standard software and tools for graphic design, photojournalism, and digital publishing.
Fully networked and supported by modern technology infrastructure, these facilities create an integrated learning environment where students can develop practical skills, produce professional-quality content, and prepare for careers in today’s dynamic media landscape.
