The Office of the Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences provides leadership and oversight for the School’s academic and administrative affairs. Appointed by the President, the Dean reports to the Provost and serves a renewable two-year term, guiding the School’s vision and operations.

As Chair of the School of Arts and Sciences Council and an active member of all School committees, the Dean fosters collaboration, ensures effective governance, and upholds academic standards.

The Office also oversees the certification of qualified students, presenting them for the conferment of degrees and supporting the School’s commitment to academic excellence. In addition, the Office fosters a culture of research, innovation, and service across its faculty.

Dear Prospective Student,

On behalf of the faculty and staff in the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), I warmly welcome you. SAS is the largest of AUN’s schools, one with an enabling environment for students, faculty, and staff to bring out their best.

All undergraduate students at the university, regardless of major, take courses in SAS as part of the core curriculum. As the home of General Education, SAS plays a central role in AUN’s distinctive American-style liberal arts education.

SAS is also deeply committed to graduate education as a vital part of its mission. Our graduate programs are designed to advance knowledge, foster original research, and prepare the next generation of scholars, researchers, and teachers.

SAS is supported by exceptional faculty and staff who are accomplished researchers and dedicated mentors.

Our faculty are approachable and committed to student success, with regular office hours dedicated to advising and academic support.
