Hearty felicitations are in order as the American University of Nigeria (AUN) congratulates Vice President University Relations, Professor Abubakar Abba Tahir on his appointment as Member of the Governing Board of the Fombina Palace Museum.
This honor is no doubt in recognition of his elder statesmanship and goodwill for the Adamawa people. The Fombina Palace Museum is a revered cultural institution dedicated to the preservation of Adamawa’s rich history and traditions.
Professor Tahir’s expertise and experience in extending AUN’s characteristic philosophies and involvement to the greater Adamawa community has earned him great acclaim. In his new role, the Vice President University Relations will be a central figure in the formulation of framework policies which include bye-laws & code of ethics, collections, conservations of rare artifacts and community advocacy policies.
He joins a line of esteemed statesmen bestowed this distinguished membership. Mallam Ahmed Joda (CFR) serves as the board’s chairman while the Karshi Adamawa, Hon M.C Tahir is Vice-chairman. The District Heads of Jimeta, Yola, Girei, Song, Gombi, Hong, Mayo-Farang, Gurin, and the Sarki Hurumi Adamawa Aminu Abdulkadir Mbamba, Professor Saibou Isa, Professor Hammadou Adama, Professor Hassan Bouba Djime, and Comrade Mohammed Bello all serve as members of the Governing Board.
Professor Tahir’s appointment will further strengthen the ties between the American University of Nigeria and our host community. For that, AUN is filled with gratitude to His Royal Highness, Lamido Adamawa for this rare privilege.
