On January 16, 2026, the American University of Nigeria (AUN) received a generous donation of modern medical equipment from Dr. Jimmy Reyes of MyHealthIowa, a US-based non-profit organization that empowers underserved communities to achieve optimal health and wellness.
This donation aims to enhance hands-on learning and practical training at AUN. The equipment, including sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, and dynamometers, will strengthen health sciences instruction and expand experiential learning opportunities for students in the School of Basic Medical and Allied Health Sciences.
The donation underscores the value of international academic partnerships in advancing AUN’s mission of delivering high-quality, practice-oriented education. Associate Dean Dr. Solomon Donsanda, formally accepting the equipment, described the donation as "timely and impactful," saying, "This equipment will enhance hands-on learning, improve instructional delivery, and support the professional training of our students. We sincerely appreciate Dr. Reyes’s kind humanitarian gesture."
