SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Recruitment Officer will be responsible for supporting the recruitment process from start to finish. This role involves working closely with the HR team and hiring managers to attract, screen, and select qualified candidates. The duties shall include but not limited to reviewing information received concerning position opening and contacts hiring official(s) in preparation for recruitment activities, assist in the development of job descriptions and vacancy announcements in accordance with the university’s policy and procedures.

DETAILED LISTING OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate recruitment, interviews applicants, evaluates applications, checks references, and determines eligibility with regard to qualification requirements for positions within the University.
  • Review information received concerning position opening and contacts hiring official(s) in preparation for recruitment activities.
  • Guide hiring official(s) concerning any qualifications requirements, which are inconsistent with the official position description, and which require classification action prior to posting and obtains any supplementary information required for the judicious evaluation and referral of applicants.
  • Assist in the development of job vacancy announcements as assigned and the placement of these advertisements on the University's internet employment site, the employment bulletin board, locally and nationally through newspapers, trade and professional journals, and a variety of recruitment sources.
  • Assist in reviewing information received concerning position opening and contacts hiring official(s) in preparation for recruitment activities.
  • Shall ensure policy consistency and equity in the employment process by providing a broad range of employment services to department administrators and staff including professional assistance with recruiting, interviewing, selection, placement, orientation and redeployment of individuals.
  • Keep all HR related forms in stock and available for employees.
  • Track and manage the start and end dates of all part time and contract employees.
  • Receive and review for completeness, employee records form.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Requirements for the position:

  • BSc or HND in any related field.
  • Two to Three years post NYSC experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
  • Experience with MS-Office. 
  • Good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • Confidentiality concerning personnel files and records.
