There are seven days in a week. On most days, I am fighting an internal battle that I can\u2019t bear to lose. On other days, I stop fighting. I give up.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

SUNDAY\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Bright and Lively\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

My insecurities and imperfections kicked in\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I pushed them into the drawer, padlocked it\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I set for the day\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

And I survived\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n


\n<\/span><\/i>But\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

MONDAY came with a twist\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Feasted on my fears\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Like a fist to my face\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Devoured my peace\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Her evil grin wrapped on her face<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Crushing me in an embrace\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Whispering sounds of failure in my ears\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

LOOK AROUND, YOU DON’T BELONG HERE. TAKE A SEAT, QUIET DOWN, HIDE AWAY, SHUSH, RUN!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

But it catches up unannounced\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Already defeated, too late!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I have lost my face\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

So, I beg for a three-day grace\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

THEN FRIDAY CAME,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

It scribbled my failures on the walls<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Crippled my desire to revolt\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Help! I am drowning in self-despair\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

My feet come to a halt\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I feel the world stare in disgust\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

YOU CAN\u2019T AMOUNT TO ANYTHING<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

GO BACK HOME\u00a0<\/span><\/i>
\n<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

On SATURDAY<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Anxiety knocks on my door<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Shoulder\u2019s high\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I wait for what’s to come<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Don’t bother\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

It tells me<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

All those lies you tell yourself<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I hear them too from dusk to dawn\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Stay in bed\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

You will need the rest for another week\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

And just like that, it won<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
