Advising Unit Holds Seminar for Students

On January 20 and 21, 2020, the Office of Academic Advising & Retention with the Writing Center organized a Back-to-School Intervention program for students.

The "Guide to Being a Successful College Student" program which took place at the School of Law auditorium was designed to help students overcome their academic challenges and excel in their academics at AUN and beyond.

Students were also guided on effective strategies required for flawless high school to college transition and proffered practical steps to achieving a seamless transition.

Academic Engagement & Learning Resource Coordinator, Mrs. Eno Obindu, said the program was organized to give students a boost to start the semester with a mindset of possibilities.

Coordinator at the Writing Center, Nicholas Achoda, gave a presentation on the power of positive thinking and the importance of having the "I CAN" mindset.

Mr. Achoda highlighted the importance of students asking questions in class, being disciplined, having a happy social life, being happy, and building up unconditional self-worth as regards their academic growth.

He advised the students to utilize the resources available to them at AUN. He said that the students who had academic struggles should try to get help from the various AUN resource centers.
