Writing Center Resumes Study Skills Seminar

On September 21, the Writing Center kicked off its weekly Study Skills Seminar for the Fall 2018 semester.

Writing Center Resumes Study Skills Seminar

The program is aimed at exposing students to various techniques for effective studies.

As a preparatory program for students, especially those in their first year, this seminar is very beneficial since learning at the university level is very different from that at the secondary school level.

The program’s Coordinator, Nicholas Achoda, said it enables participants to have a smooth transition from high school to the university.

“We teach them how to cope with their disciplines and manage time."

Mr. Achoda was the presenter and taught the students the importance of taking notes.

A business administration major, Jewel Amachree spoke of how helpful the session was to her.

"I have learned a lot in this course because it gives you the basic foundation in study skills.”

Another student, Adesina Habeeb, an accounting major, said the session exposed her to newer methods of learning and expanded her knowledge.

“I would like to come back for another session because no knowledge is a waste in AUN."
