Provost Kah Fetes Deans, Program Chairs at Luncheon

On May 15, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, Professor Muhammadou Kah, hosted all academic leaders to a luncheon to mark a successful end to the 2017/18 academic year and to thank them for a job well done.

“I wish we could extend it to the entire faculty but with time, hopefully, we will broaden it. Teaching, supporting the deans, and supporting our students to be successful in learning is not an easy job,” he said.

The Provost also commended the deans for selflessly representing the interests of faculty and serving as a bridge between the Provost’s Office and faculty. He also noted that there is always a room for improvement on faculty performance every year.

While pledging support to all faculty at all times, Prof. Kah enjoined the academic heads to encourage talented people within their reach to join AUN. “You will always have my support and the President’s support all the time.

“I also urge you to keep an eye for colleagues who are talented whom we can also recruit. We may think we have adequate faculty, but we never do. Where ever you find a talent that you feel can contribute to AUN, please recruit them and encourage them to join us. The strength of this University and our ability to be a world-class institution rest in your hands as faculty.”
