Young Friends of Atiku (YOFA), a political pressure group, went on a food distribution exercise to the Malkohi IDP camp in Jimeta.
The group said its gesture towards the internally displaced was to honor the AUN Founder, H.E. Atiku Abubakar, whose birthday was on November 25.
YOFA’s Director-General, Barr. Silas Joseph Onu explained that his team comprises young people from across the country who are committed to fixing the rot in the nation, including issues that led to the insurgency and massive displacements in northeast Nigeria.
YOFA donated 25 bags of rice to the IDPs and pledged to extend the outreach across the country. Dr. Abubakar S. Hussaini of the School of IT & Computing, who led the visit acknowledged the exemplary leadership of the AUN founder. He commended President Dekle, Dean Mathias Fonkam of SITC, and AVP Nourah Bamalli of HR & Planning, and the Executive Director of Communications, Mr. Daniel Okereke, for their logistic support towards the visit to the IDP camp.
Among the YOFA team were Eric Ekere, the Adamawa State Coordinator, Hon. Ekanem Brown from Akwa Ibom State, Yusuf Ahmed from Gombe State, and David Jonah from Adamawa State.
