Newly admitted students in the Spring 2019 semester were flanked by enthusiastic family and friends at the library auditorium for their induction into the AUN learning community on January 21.
During the ceremony, president of the SGA, Yusuf Ayman Usman, charged the new entrants to make the best of their stay in AUN as the university has never ceased to provide its students with the best opportunities for development. "The onus is on you to take these opportunities by the horn, wield them, carve them, and make them your own."
Mr. Usman described AUN students as hardworking, diligent, and selfless in service to the community. "You will become confident, compassionate change-makers who will go further in life after AUN than you ever imagined."
Raliat Abdulkareem, a Marketing major, said she chose AUN because it met all the specifications she was looking for in an educational institution. "I found AUN when I was searching for an internationally recognized university in Nigeria and I liked what I saw."
After getting a firsthand experience of AUN, Miss Abdulkareem said she is now more excited and ready to engage in school activities. "When I came here, I learned that AUN has a lot more to offer and I am so glad and honored to be part of the AUN learning community. I've seen a lot of things I am interested in already and I believe I can achieve a lot here."
Husseina Abdulkadir, an English and Literature major, is excited with the vast opportunities that AUN has to offer to help propel her ambitions in life. "I have seen a lot of clubs I like. I want to maintain a 4.0 GPA, become the president of SGA, have my name on the walls of the school, and be the best I can be out there. AUN has potential and I am ready for it."
Topitope Josiah, a Computer Science major, wants to be part of the growing high-tech world and believes this University is perfect and conducive for modern education. "AUN is splendid. From the facilities to the faculties and professors, this University has everything I need to achieve my goals in life and I am very excited to begin my academic journey from here."
