Everything has a beginning and an ending. That was what Information Systems major and Muslim Students Society organizing committee Chair, Abubakar Sanusi Paris, left the crowd with as he delivered his farewell speech at the 14th annual send forth ceremony on Sunday, April 28.
“I will always be around to give my advice”, he said to the incoming executives.
As part of the speeches delivered, AVP Nourah Bamalli, of the Human Resources & Planning department advised the outgoing executives to continue being citizen-leaders and to uphold their duties as Muslims because graduating from this society does not mean graduating from Islam. He turned to the incoming executives and told them that there was so much responsibility on them, "you have to continue where your predecessors left off and abide by the doctrines of Islam".
Moderated by former SGA President Ayman Usman, the event gave room for engagement. A drama show was presented by MSS members depicting the most common mistakes made during the fasting month of Ramadan. After that, a question and answer session ensued. Interestingly questions were asked and witty answers were given.
The closing remarks were given by Interim President Zahradeen Abubakar Umar. He explained the importance of the positions each new executive has occupied and stressed on the importance of carrying out their duties. “May Allah make it easy for us all” he concluded.
