Natina Yaduma is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics at the American University of Nigeria. With a wealth of experience in economics teaching and research gained from training and professional research in leading UK universities, he aims to enhance student learning and research at the American University. Prior to joining the American University, Natina was a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey (UK) and worked on an EU Economic and Social Research Council funded project from October 2013 to July 2015. The project employed quantitative and qualitative research techniques in analysing the relationship between labour productivity, employment of migrants and flexible working practices in the UK hotel industry to provide evidence based policy prescriptions on the most important flexible working practices and the contribution of migrant labour in increasing the industry’s productivity.

Natina has a PhD in Economics – majoring in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics – and an MSc in Economics, both obtained from the from the University of Manchester (UK). He also worked as a Teaching Assistant (from January 2010 to August 2013) at the same University. Natina is an avid reader and enjoys playing basketball and squash.
