AUN Alumni Association Donates to Neighborhood Clinic

The community service activity for 2017 Homecoming was done at Wuro Hausa Health Center.

On November 11, 20 AUN Alumni Association members went to this clinic, which is situated within the Wuro Hausa Community of Yola town.  Among the items donated were medical supplies, plastic chairs, beddings, and pillows.

Coordinator of Alumni Relations, Peter Paya, said once in a year the AUN graduates come back home.  During the one week of activity-filled ‘Homecoming’ events, they contribute funds to use as a charity in supporting the University’s host community.

“The level of cleanliness here can be better and as an association of doers, we felt there is something that we can do about it. We hope that the little that we brought will be maximized for the good of our mothers that will be brought here to deliver.”

Interim President of the Alumni Association, Ifeatu Uzodinma, appreciated his fellow alums for the sacrifice of their time, energy, and financial resources.

Facility Manager at the Center, Joshua Dona, who received the items, expressed gratitude to the alums for the time and resources they committed to the intervention.
