The AUN Stallions crashed out of the Adamawa Peace Tournament by a lone-goal margin in a competitive 3-2 Mbamba United win.
This was the second defeat suffered by AUN in the tournament after the 8-6 Staff loss to the Security team. In the Mbamba versus Stallions match, Patrick Nuhu created the first chance as he tried to beat Stallions goalie, Ugochukwu Ezeudenna, to score the first goal of the match, but Ezeudenna saved the moment with an awesome block.
The Stallions were caught napping again, when defender Zaro fumbled the ball. Amos Abednego, who freed up Benjamin Sunday to score, beat Zaro and wasted no time getting the ball into the net. But the Stallions tied the game when Steve Levi scored.
In the second half, an early Mbamba goal from Adamu Ibrahim forced Stallions to rethink their game plan. Six minutes later, Mustapha Gidado scored the second goal for the Stallions. At tie-point, substitute Mubarak Duhu was introduced to add some excitement in the game. Mbamba pressured on and made the score 3-2 in the 77th minute.
