Dodore United became the first casualty at the on-going Adamawa Peace Tournament that began on Sunday, November 10, at the Academy football field. Goals were being scored after an intense first half of shared competence and determination on both sides.
The weaknesses in Dodore’s midfield and defense became obvious when AYT forwards Nasiru Musa, Jamilu Isah, and Ahmadu Abubakar began capitalizing on lapses that eventually led to three superb goals. The fall for Dodore United began in the 24th minute, when Musa Nasir lashed out a shot from a low pass coming from Sadiq Madu, and team skipper Kabiru Isah.
A second goal came from Jamilu Isah who found Ahmadu Abubakar in a good position to displace the goalkeeper.
In the 68th minute, AYT scored another goal, and the score was 3-0. Referee Adamu Umar spotted an infringement on Dodore forward Haruna Ibrahim. He was awarded a spot kick, which was well taken by Sanni Umar. The game ended 3-1 in favor of AYT FC.
