On September 15, the Provost Prof Muhammadou Kah hosted PhD students to a courtesy meeting in the 24Hour room of the library.
The meeting was convened to enable the Provost “to learn about some of the challenges within the PhD program”, according to a statement from his Executive Assistant, Ms. Sarah Nankyer Bitrus.
The statement said: “More often than not, the pioneer class of PhD students faces various challenges, which is a reflection of how a student backs up their knowledge with theory. He added that time is of the essence for the success of every PhD student.”
The Provost asked the students for continuous cooperation, as the new administration in collaboration with the leadership of the graduate school works on ensuring lasting solutions to the identified challenges.
An action plan to “develop good research activities that includes biweekly research seminar and colloquium will be developed for the PhD students to further strengthen their research skills”, was agreed, the statement said.
