The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has nominated Ibrahim Damare and Nwanshak Tongnan, both accountants in the Finance Division, for Fellowship positions.
Fellow is the apex rank in the accounting profession in Nigeria and ANAN is one of the respected chartered bodies that certify accountants in the country.
Mr. Tongnan is the University Bursar while Mr. Damare is the Financial Director. Both have extensive accounting experience as Certified National Accountants.
Vice President of Finance, Anthony Agbo, who announced the nominations, described these honors as a show of recognition for the “professionalism, extensive experience and outstanding performance” of both men. “Their hunger for knowledge and venture into new areas of professional practice transformed them into very accomplished accountants, and among the best around.”
Damare, who holds an MBA in Finance, has been a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators since 2015. He joined AUN in 2005 as Lead Accountant.
Tongnan, who holds a postgraduate diploma (PGD) in Management, has been a member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN). He joined AUN in 2009 as a Senior Accountant.
