Appointment of Dr. Dawn Dekle: Reactions from Community

I believe AUN is the best-kept secret in Nigeria. The campus is buzzing with potential, and I was inspired by this new generation of talent, the engaged learning experiences, and community collaborations.

-- Dawn Dekle

We are delighted that Dr. Dekle has accepted our offer and will join our learning community. I am confident that she will take our university into the next phase of development.  Her vision for AUN in a global era resonated with the entire board and we welcome her with great enthusiasm and anticipation in the coming years.

-- Akin Kekere-Ekun, BoT chair

On behalf of the SGA, we wish to affirm that the appointment of Dr. Dawn Dekle as the new AUN President meets us as a long awaited development within our community. We are filled with genuine joy and overwhelming excitement even as we look forward to a new era within AUN that will positively impact each and every past, current, and future AUN Student and all the other wonderful people that make it possible for us to get an American education right here in Nigeria. We hope she will continue with all the good works Dr. Margee Ensign started. We believe that with her vast experience in other similar, particularly, American universities, she is in the best position to lead this Great University. We as the Student Government are also aware that working with the new President is key and a core part of ensuring that our goal of working 'with' the school 'for' the students is achieved. We therefore seize this opportunity to extend and offer our support to the new President.

-- Saeed Sibir Usman, Vice President of the SGA
