AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA OFFICE OF UNIVERSITY EVENTS & PUBLICATIONS
The Office of University Events & Publications
Managing events as well as producing university publications at the American University of Nigeria had been done since 2005 when the University opened its doors to its first set of students. At the time, these activities were housed in the University Relations and Development division headed by Dr. J. Elspeth Smith, founding Vice-President of the division. In 2010, these functions moved to the newly created Public Relations & Communications Department. In 2013, the Office of University Events & Publications was created as an independent office reporting directly to the Office of the President.
The Office of University Events & Publications oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of major university events and ceremonies, and supports various university groups in planning their events and ceremonies as well. The Office also coordinates the university branding effort, and it oversees the printing of all university publications and promotional gifts.
The Office of University Events & Publications seeks to maintain the highest quality in events and publications content, publications printing, and events planning and organization. In all of these functions, the office will continue to showcase AUN, support the university’s strategic vision as a “Development University,” and promote the institution’s brand image and identity.
