AUN students visited Njoboli, a Fulani community of Yola South, on Wednesday, September 18. They donated items such as clothing, shoes, bags, bathing/washing soaps, and money they had collected to ease local hardship.
Director of Community Service, Mohamadou Dabo, explained that the donation is the charity component of the AUN community service initiative. Only a week ago, a Natural & Environmental Sciences major, Zainab Bashir, began a soil-research project at Njoboli with a view toward greater productivity and sustainability.
Hon Bello Ardo, a former Councilor from the area, who represented the village head, thanked the University administration for what he called "the benefit of siting a university in the region.”
