The Norwegian Refugee council (NRC) hosted AUN on it’s live radio series hosted by Dan dal Kura International Radio station aired in the local language in Maiduguri. The radio program reaches over 10 million people across the Lake chad Region, and the aim of the program is to address issues of displacement, protection and durable solutions to the crisis in northeast Nigeria.
The discussion topic for the NRC Live series broadcast on Sunday May 20, 2018 was Early recovery and livelihoods Sector. The sector representative was Ms Maryam Maina Lawan from American University of Nigeria and other guests in the program were from NRC, NERI, UNDP, and Borno State Ministry for reconstruction, rehabilitation, and resettlement. Some of the major objectives of the program were for the listeners to know the meaning and signs of early recovery, to know the opportunities available to IDPs, returnees & host communities, and to understand how early recovery programming will impact livelihood of people in North East Nigeria.
